Rostock – Discover the Hanseatic City with the Baltic Sea Resort

Rostock has everything you need for an exciting short break to North Germany. The inner city is a triumphant blend of old and new: From the 117 meter high tower of the red brick St. Petri church visitors can look across churches, warehouses and gabled houses. Just a few steps further in the heart of the city centre, the colossal Marienkirchen (St. Mary‘s Church) ticks with the world‘s oldest and still working astronomical clock. Rostock‘s shopping mile begins just outside the proud church walls – the Kröpeliner Straße. Behind the historic facade of picture-perfect merchant houses, numerous bou- tiques, shops and shopping arcades are hiding along with cafés. The city harbour creates the most wonderful setting for a peaceful break. Between the warehouses and sailboats, restaurants can be found offering fish, meat and German beer to tickle the taste buds. The pearl of Rostock is called Warnemünde. Small shops selling fashion, art and souvenirs for every taste are located Am Alten Strom in the traditional seaside resort. During August, visitors can enjoy a particu- larly special atmosphere: The Hanse Sail when around 200 large and traditional sailing boats adorn the quays and the horizon.
